Guess The Gross (the "Game") is operated by FlickDirect INC ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Game handles and the choices you have. By using the Game you agree to this policy.
Information We Handle
Play as a guest and no account is required — your game progress, statistics, and settings are stored only on your device.
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo, and we store your statistics and settings in the cloud so they sync across your devices.
With your consent, we collect anonymous usage analytics (see "Analytics & Cookies"). We do not ask for or collect any other personal information.
How We Use Information
To run the daily puzzle, to sync your progress across devices when you are signed in, and — in aggregate and anonymized form — to understand how the Game is played so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information.
Analytics & Cookies
On the web, analytics are off by default. We ask for your consent before enabling Google Analytics, which then sets analytics cookies (such as "_ga") and records anonymous events like puzzles played and screens viewed — never your identity. You can decline, and the Game works fully without analytics.
The Game also uses on-device storage (local storage / app storage) that is strictly necessary to run — for example your settings, current board, and sign-in session. This is not used for tracking and does not require consent.
Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, and analytics) to operate the Game. Movie information and images are provided by TMDB and OMDb. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Data Sharing & Retention
We share information only with the service providers above, as needed to run the Game. Local data remains until you clear it or uninstall the app. Cloud data (for signed-in users) is retained while your account exists.
Your Choices & Rights
You can decline analytics, sign out at any time, and clear the Game's data through your device or browser. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access or delete your information. Children's Privacy
The Game is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
